Despite the lack of pre-market safety testing, 5G is being deployed in many parts of the world, including some parts of New Zealand. (As of this writing, most of New Zealand is fortunately 5G-Free.) Major worldwide protests took place on 25 January 2020. (See below).
Protests Planned for April 2020
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown in New Zealand protests in April 2020 that involved marches or gatherings have been cancelled. However, protests that do NOT involve actions that violate the lockdown rules are still going ahead. This page will be updated with information about the protests for New Zealand as soon as the details of these have been finalised.
Global Day of Protest Saturday 25 January 2020
A global day of protests against the imposition of this unnecessary technology that poses risks to people’s health and privacy and our environment was planned for Saturday January 25, 2020 and there were numerous protests in New Zealand as the information below shows. Most of the protests were documented via photos sent into the 5G Free New Zealand Facebook page.

Protests from North to South (more or less)
NB: The protests are being listed roughly from North to South and we are delighted to report that there are now protests or other events organised from as far North as Kaitaia and as far South as Invercargill. Thank you to all the wondeful volunteers who are organising these local events!
Kaitaia
The team from 5G-Free Kaitaia will be doing a public education outreach at the Kaitaia Market on Saturday 25th January and handing out flyers on 5G. If you are in the Far North please visit the market to connect with your local team.
Whangarei
This is a combined protest being organised by Stop 5G Mangawhai and Stop 5G Whangarei.

Stop 5G Coromandel Peninsula be at Thames Market on Pollen street in Grahamstown part of Thames from 9.30 to 12 noon to do an information outreach on the 5G issue.
Hamilton
DATE: Saturday, January 25th, 2020
TIME and PLACE: Meet at 10 AM at 401 Grey Street, (outside the Regional Council offices), Hamilton East, Waikato, North Island (NB: Plesae note that 401 is the correct street number for this protest. The previous address was wrong, sorry.)

Te Awamutu and Kihikihi
DATE: Saturday, January 25th, 2020
TIME and PLACE: Meet at the War Memorial Park in Bank Street, Te.Awamutu., at 10:00 am, then walk to Vodafone and Spark with our signs. This is to be a peaceful, well behaved and dignified walk to celebrate the fact that Te Awamutu is 5G-Free. (No shouting or anger.)
After that, at appoximately 11:30 am. we will drive up to the Kihikihi Rewi Maniapoto Reserve on SH 3 to stand there with our signs. Please bring a picnic lunch if you like.
Gisborne
DATE: Saturday, January 25th, 2020
TIME: 10:00 am
WHERE: Starting point is the carpark of Manaaki Tamariki Childcare at 77 Cobden Street (across from EiT). Then walk through the Town Centre to finish at Gisborne Court House.

Kapiti Coast is having its own protest on 25 January 2020
WHERE and WHEN: Meet at the Paraparaumu Library Car Park at 11:00 AM. There will be a walk around the car parking areas around the Coastland Mall then meet back at the Paraparaumu Library Car Park and listen to a speaker. The event ends at 1 PM.
Wellington
DATE: Saturday, January 25th, 2020
TIME: Begins 12.30-12.45 pm

Nelson
5G-Free Nelson is planning community information outreach activities for Saturday 25 January 2020 and Sunday 25 January 2020.

Dunedin
In Dunedin there will be a Meditation at the Octagon from 4pm onwards on Saturday 25th January to witness 5G and the opportunity there is to reject it.
Invercargill (and Southland)
DATE: Saturday, January 25th, 2020
TIME and PLACES: Meet at the Fieldwick Memorial Gates at Queens Park at 10am and depart at 11am to walk around town to assemble at Wachner Place at noon for speeches and information about the 5G issue.
